Security background. Builder's mindset.

I'm Eric York, an information security professional based in Knoxville, Tennessee. My day-to-day work is in enterprise security: identity and access management, endpoint protection, incident response, risk assessment, and compliance for a mid-size organization.

Outside of that, I work directly with local and small businesses that don't have the budget or need for an enterprise security team, but still deal with the same phishing attempts, exposed systems, and account compromises as much larger companies. I bring the same practices down to a scale that actually fits a small business.

A lot of security and development work gets buried in jargon. I'd rather explain what's actually going on in plain terms, so you can make an informed call instead of just taking my word for it. This site is something I built myself, and it's the same approach I bring to client work: practical, fast, and built to hold up.

The reason I offer development and SEO alongside security is simple: most local businesses don't experience these as three separate problems. They experience it as “is my business okay online,” and that question touches all three.
